Authenticity

The Glen Grant 18 Year Old starts its journey in the perfect location for whisky-making in the village of Rothes, the heart of the Speyside region. With an abundance of quality two-row Scottish barley, the distillery was built on the banks of the Back Burn, a tributary of the River Spey and source of pure, mineral rich water.

Oversight

Today Master Distiller, Dennis Malcolm, is guardian of founder Major James Grant's legacy. He followed the footsteps of his father and grandfather before him and was even born on the distillery grounds, in the house he still lives in today. Dennis Malcolm has overseen every step of The Glen Grant 18 Year Old maturation into the outstanding single malt we enjoy today.

The Glen Grant 18 Year Old undergoes the same consistent production process of all The Glen Grant Single Malts, however, we introduce maturation in hogshead casks. Five bourbon barrels are dismantled and rebuilt into the standard Scotch whisky barrel called a hogshead. Hogsheads were the standard barrels coopers in the UK were trained to build, further cementing our authenticity in the whisky-making process.


Pristine Maturation
We prioritize maturing The Glen Grant in the unchanging coolness of our traditional dunnage warehouses. Casks are racked just three high -- the perfect setting to create the fresh, open character of our whisky.


Recognized
The Glen Grant 18 Year Old was awarded Best Scotch whisky in ALL categories in the Whisky Bible 2017-2021 and was also the recipient of Double Gold Medal at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It also received a perfect score, "100 Points," at the Ascot Awards and "Best in Class" in Whisky Advocate Magazine.

Recommended to serve neat with an option of still water on the side. Adding a drop or two of water to the whisky will open it up, releasing more flavours imparted from the barrels onto the liquid.
