MASTERY

Wild Turkey whiskies are made from limestone-rich water from the Kentucky River, along with the highest quality rye and malted barley for complexity and depth, and 100% American-grown and non-GMO corn for the balance of flavour.

The spirit is distilled to a considerably lower proof than standard industry practice and the legal maximum of 80%.
This means less water is added before barreling thus retaining more flavor. The whiskey ages in New American White Oak barrels with the deepest number 4 “Alligator” char for bolder flavours and deeper colour.

Master’s Keep Triumph is a celebration of Kentucky rye did the Wild Turkey way. At 10-years, Triumph is the oldest age-stated rye released from the Wild Turkey Distilling Co. Eddie Russell drew inspiration from his son Bruce’s love for rye when he laid down the casks for this year's Master’s Keep a decade ago, well before rye whiskey gained its current popularity.

Moment

Wild Turkey's “Master’s Keep Triumph” is to be served neat in a tasting glass to best appreciate its full character, depth and complexity. It is first-nosed to allow the drinker to become acquainted with the aromas and to capture the personality of the liquid. Then it is tasted neat, with the first sip used to coat the mouth with the whiskey.

The process is to be repeated with the addition of a few drops of room-temperature water via a straw or eye dropper to open the spirit and reveal the rich layers of fruits, caramel and aged oak.

The drinker will first notice a nose of vanilla, crème brûlée, and mint that transitions to apple, pear, and nutmeg. On the palate, the whiskey brings forth notes of sweet honey and spiced clove, giving way to dark chocolate, dates and spice with a finish of rich mocha-coffee and black pepper.
